In June of 2006, the program hosted the first annual Canadaway Creek Conservation Project where community members and organizations were brought together to clean up the stream and planted willow trees to stabilize the stream’s banks and create cooling cover for the overheated summer waters. The hope is to foster respect stewardship of the region’s natural resources.
